Q & A

  1. What is your role with Chesley Brown International?
My title is Business Development Analyst but I am excited to join Chesley Brown to do what I do best: serve our clients. I envision myself in the other person’s position, using quick thinking, creativity, and innovation to resolve any issue at hand. My security industry experience includes prospecting and managing clients across the U.S., working with most industries. I have helped many CEOs and property managers reduce their costs, time, and frustrations by recognizing their real pain points and helping them find the right solutions. I am excited to join a security company with consulting and problem-solving at its core, and it is always more than just putting bodies on a post.
  2. Why are you excited to work for Chesley brown International?
I am extremely excited to work with the Chesley Brown International “family.” I love working with family-owned businesses, especially ones that have grown to have an international presence. That took perseverance and hard work of many people, which is my work style. Everyone I have met has been very friendly and very knowledgeable.
  3. What is your proudest career moment?
I most enjoy it when I help others or mentor others, but my favorite deal is when I come back from vacation, which included a trip to see dolphins with my nieces. Driving into work after vacation, I thought of the Georgia Aquarium as the next place to take my nieces. That also sparked my professional interest, so I called the Georgia Aquarium to get to know the decision-makers and influencers. It took a while, but I later received a callback, was vetted by the CFO, and finally obtained a meeting. In the end, our sales team won the $1.6M contract for security at the Georgia Aquarium.
  4. What do you do when you’re not at work?
My motto is “Work hard, play harder,” which in no way means that I don’t work VERY hard. But playing harder includes all sorts of exciting adventures like jumping out of airplanes, cliff jumping, scuba diving, travel adventures, and most anything, especially outdoors. I also love Art, Music, and other expressions from creative people. I especially love innovators.
  5. People are surprised to learn that you
I grew up in Mississippi. I moved to Dallas, Texas, for college; in my first year, some new friends kept pressuring me to try out for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. I kept telling them I had never been a cheerleader, had not taken dance lessons, and was not from Dallas, so I had no chance. To get them to stop pressuring me, I agreed to send in my photo and a letter. To my surprise, out of over 12,000 applicants, I made it through several interview stages and into the top forty. They only had three spots to fill, and professional cheerleaders from other NFL teams were in the top forty with me. Despite my lack of experience, I was shocked to be a finalist as a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader!
  6. What’s your go-to karaoke song?
Having followed career promotions most of my life, the one song I finally attempted to sing felt like I wrote it, “No Roots” by Alice Merton. Now that I have found my husband and Chesley Brown International, I have finally found “HOME.”
